You could easily spend weeks at your favorite Zion National Park hotel and still not see everything that the area has to offer. From exploring the trails of Zion to taking day trips to nearby state parks, wandering Springdale’s art galleries, and enjoying excursions like e-biking and off-road tours, you’ll never run out of things to do!
But what if you find yourself with only a weekend to spend in Southern Utah? While you might not get to hike every trail on your list or take any day trips, you can still enjoy a fun, relaxing, and memorable getaway!

Friday
What time you get to your resort on Friday will impact how you spend the first day of your trip. If you’ll be arriving in the evening, kick off your fun weekend getaway with a delicious meal at Spotted Dog at Flanigan’s Inn. Fill up on delicious American bistro selections in our art-filled dining room. If the weather is nice, request a table outside to enjoy stunning views of Zion’s peaks while you dine. Don’t forget to check out our extensive Wine List and our full bar — what better way to start your vacation?
After dinner, we recommend taking a stroll around the property. If it’s warm out, take a dip in the pool, or take some time to stroll through the Hilltop Labyrinth. With only a weekend to spend here, we recommend booking a Deluxe Terrace Room or Deluxe Balcony Room. The private outdoor spaces of each of these rooms are perfect for relaxing and taking in the views of Zion National Park and our beautiful grounds.
If you arrive in Springdale early on Friday, take some time to wander the art galleries and do some shopping in town. This is a great chance to pick up some artwork as a souvenir of your trip!
Saturday
Start your day nice and early to make the most of your weekend trip! Today you’ll be heading into Zion National Park! One perk of choosing resorts near Zion National Park is enjoying easy access to the park. You’ve done your research, and are staying at a resort with a shuttle stop just steps away! Roll out of bed and head to the shuttle stop. You’ll ride this shuttle to the entrance to Zion. From there, you’ll hop off and enter the park, then hop on another shuttle that will take you into the Lower Canyon.
If you’re visiting on a busy summer or holiday weekend, lines may form for the shuttle bus. But if you don’t want to spend too much time waiting for buses all day long, consider adding an e-bike rental to your room reservation. We’ve partnered with Zion Peddler to give guests access to e-bikes that you can use to cruise Zion and Springdale. You can ride your e-bike into the Lower Canyon, and park it at trailheads and overlooks.
If you’ve gotten a permit for Angels Landing, head there first. Otherwise, there are plenty of other trails to choose from. Don’t forget to stop at the Visitor Center, too!
You can head back to Springdale for lunch or dine at the Zion Lodge. After a long day in the park, head back to Flanigan’s for a relaxing evening and another tasty meal at Spotted Dog or head into Springdale to dine at one of the many nearby restaurants.
Sunday
All that hiking and sightseeing will no doubt have you feeling a little tired and sore on Sunday morning. Don’t worry; today is all about relaxing before you head home!
Ahead of your trip, check out the spa menu at Deep Canyon Spa, and schedule a relaxing massage or rejuvenating facial — or both! This morning, swing by Spotted Dog for our popular Express Breakfast Buffet, where you can choose from light, fresh fair like fruit and pastries, or more decadent selections like French Toast and biscuits and gravy. Then, head to the spa to enjoy some relaxation before heading home.
Short on time? You can fit in a Deep Canyon Leg & Feet Treatment in just 30 minutes.
