Planning the Ultimate Couples Retreat at Flanigan’s Resort

Valentine’s Day is just a few weeks away. This year, instead of spending money on candy and flowers that won’t last, why not gift that special someone with the ultimate couples retreat at Flanigan’s Resort?

From our luxurious rooms to our on-site spa to the stunning natural views that surround the resort, Flanigan’s makes for a romantic destination for couples. Ready to plan the perfect getaway with your spouse or significant other? Keep reading to learn everything you need to know.

Start the Day with a Hike

There’s no better way to kick off a getaway with your spouse or significant other than by creating a new, amazing memory together. And what better place to do so than in Zion National Park?

Flanigan’s Resort’s convenient location, less than two miles from the entrance to Zion, makes it easy to start your day in the park early. A shuttle stop for the Springdale Shuttle line is located on-site, making it even easier to get to the entrance to the park, and to avoid parking hassles in town.

There are a variety of hiking trails to choose from. Angels Landing is perhaps the park’s most iconic trail. This challenging trail is five miles long, with more than 1,500 feet of elevation change. The trail isn’t for the inexperienced hiker, but if you’re up for the challenge can be a great bucket-list hike to cross off your list during your special weekend. As of April 2022, this trail does require a permit, and visitors will need to enter one of two lottery systems to obtain one.

If you don’t get a permit for Angels Landing or want something a little less challenging, there are plenty of other trails to choose from. Watchman Trail and the Middle and Upper Emerald Pools Trails offer views of some of Zion’s most famous landmarks. Canyon Overlook Trail is a short, easy hike with great views of Zion’s Lower Canyon. Because this trailhead is located in Zion’s Upper Canyon, you will need to drive your personal vehicle for this one.

Because it is located in Zion’s Kolob Canyon area, which is a short drive away from the main section of the park, Taylor Creek Trail is often overlooked. This five-mile round-trip hike is moderately difficult, and leads to another park landmark; Double Arch.

Indulge in a Luxurious Afternoon at Deep Canyon Spa

After a morning of hiking, head back to Flanigan’s Resort for a relaxing, romantic afternoon at Deep Canyon Spa. This beautiful on-site spa offers a variety of massages and facials for guests to choose from.

You and your spouse or significant other can each choose your own customized treatment. Treat your sore muscles to a Deep Canyon Muscle Relief massage, relax, and let go of tension with our Warmed Himalayan Salt Stone treatment, or opt for a Customized Therapy session. Follow it up with a Deep Canyon Signature Facial or Hydrafacial for a deep cleansing experience that will leave your skin glowing.

Next Up: Dining in Zion National Park

Now that you worked up a serious appetite, it’s time for a romantic meal with your loved one. Dining in Zion National Park is limited. Luckily, when you stay at Flanigan’s Resort, our signature on-site restaurant is just steps away!

Spotted Dog is a casual American bistro serving up delicious homemade meals made with locally sourced ingredients, sustainably harvested fish, and hormone-free meats. Choose a wine from our extensive Wine List, which features more than 400 selections from our Wine Cellar, which holds up to 2,000 bottles. While walk-ins are welcome, we recommend making a reservation for your date night, especially if you’re visiting on the weekend or during the busy summer season.

Relax in a Luxurious Room with a View

There’s no better way to end your romantic weekend than by relaxing together in a stunning resort room. At Flanigan’s Resort, we have several room options to choose from. Our Standard Rooms are equipped with a plush King bed or two queens, spa robes, Frette linens, and a full bath stocked with Southwest Botanical amenities. Upgrade to a Deluxe Terrace or Deluxe Balcony Room to enjoy an outdoor space with stunning views of Zion’s peaks.

For an extra special touch during your getaway, consider booking one of our signature suites. The beautiful Gary Adams Suite, for instance, features a comfortable entry porch with a table and chairs perfect for enjoying your morning coffee, as well as a Loft Bedroom with a King bed.
